Melt Pour Process Sensor Deep Dive
The objective of this project is to optimize the sensors used to monitor a melt pour process of a pilot scale manufacturing plant in New Jersey.
MxD is working with a New Jersey manufacturer where currently the melt pour process is heavily reliant on operator observation to determine when a slurry mixture is ready to be poured. It is currently unknown if the sensor data that currently exists in the process is enough to accurately determine when the product is ready to be poured.
Proposed Solution
The team will review the current process melt pour process for a New Jersey manufacturer, research and recommend new sensors to add to the process and implement those sensors within the facility, providing testing and training to personnel.
Impact
Improve the operator’s ability to control the quality of the product. Review industrial sensors under the current process, research and recommend different/new sensors to add to the process, and implement those sensors within the facility. And provide documentation for future implementations of sensors
