Manufacturers struggle with tracking and tracing critical assets like tools, fixtures, and components, leading to production delays and inefficiencies. Despite the availability of various tracking technologies, there is no unified tool that allows manufacturers to easily assess and implement the most suitable solutions for their specific needs, resulting in wasted time and resources.

The team will develop a comprehensive tool that enables manufacturers to explore and select the most appropriate track and trace technologies for their operations. This will involve creating a summary of available solutions, an interactive selection tool for comparison, a best practices playbook, and a demonstration of the technology at MxD’s factory floor to validate and showcase its effectiveness.

This project will help manufacturers reduce downtime and inefficiencies by improving their ability to locate and track critical assets in real time. By simplifying the decision-making process for selecting track and trace technologies, the solution will drive greater adoption of Industry 4.0 practices, enhancing productivity, and competitiveness within U.S. manufacturing.
