MxD is advancing its mission to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) nationwide by developing and delivering an integrated suite of training, tools, and resources aligned with current cybersecurity standards and manufacturing environments. The following program, broken down into multiple projects, outlines a comprehensive approach to improving cyber readiness, compliance, and resilience across the manufacturing ecosystem.
24-13-02 | Cyber Range
To simulate a manufacturing organization’s IT and OT environment and allow participants to practice offensive and defensive cybersecurity skills, MxD in collaboration with Immerse Labs, will provide a Cyber Range Virtual Platform.
24-13-03 | I.R Workshop
MxD will design and deploy an immersive cyber training range paired with portable industrial control system (ICS) and operational technology (OT) training kits. This hands-on experience will allow SMMs to practice defending realistic manufacturing systems, enhancing workforce readiness and operational resilience.
24-13-04 | Compliance Playbook
To guide manufacturers through the more rigorous requirements of CMMC 2.0 Level 2, MxD will develop a comprehensive, interactive, digital playbook outlining required controls, implementation steps, documentation needs, and best practices tailored to specific SMM environments.
24-13-06 | Threat Modeling Workshop
To help SMMs understand how cybersecurity threats may impact their environments, identify opportunities to eliminate or mitigate those risks, and build future systems securely from the outset, MxD will deliver a no-cost threat modeling training workshop.
24-13-07| Cybersecurity Buyer’s Guide
To build member confidence in procuring effective cybersecurity solutions, MxD has developed a Cyber Security Buyer’s Guide. This resource helps manufactures gather the critical information they need before engaging with cybersecurity solution providers.
24-13-08 | Cyber Survey
To support compliance and risk management, MxD will offer tailored assessments aligned with NIST SP 800-161 (supply chain risk management) and NIST SP 800-171 Rev. 3 (Controlled Unclassified Information). These assessments will help SMMs identify cybersecurity gaps and prioritize improvements.
