MxD Recognized as Manufacturing Leadership Awards 2023 Finalist

APRIL 7, 2023 (CHICAGO) — MxD today announced that it has been recognized as a finalist in the 2023 Manufacturing Leadership Awards for outstanding project achievements as well as in next-generation leadership.

MxD projects were named finalists in three categories: Engineering and Production Technology, Digital Supply Chain, and Digital Network Connectivity.

MxD’s SMART – Standards for Metrology-Aided Robot Technology project is a finalist in the Engineering and Production Technology category. SMART developed standards and a methodology for employing robotic path compensation using external metrology-aided robotic systems (MARs) to improve task performance. Standards were developed to evaluate two separate pilot configurations. MxD collaborated with Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM Institute) and Boeing to develop a project concept to explore state-of-the-art robotic compensation research being conducted in academia and industry.

The Institute’s Supply Chain Risk Alert Two (SCRA2) project is a finalist in the Digital Supply Chain category. MxD partnered with leading COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) supply chain risk management tool vendors to spearhead a CARES Act-funded project to develop an integrated platform that provides supply chain illumination, risk event identification, and risk mitigation. SCRA2 builds upon previous projects undertaken by MxD to create a platform that offers visibility into a customer’s supply chain and the unknown or growing risks that may impact their operations.

The MxD Cyber Marketplace was named a finalist in the Digital Network Connectivity category. The MxD Cyber Marketplace provides an entry point to the cyber journey for small and medium manufacturers (SMMs) and other stakeholders. It offers proven solutions tailored to address organizations’ cybersecurity needs identified through detailed security assessments. The marketplace also helps current and potential suppliers to the U.S. Department of Defense, other government, or critical infrastructure comply with federal cybersecurity requirements.

Eric Kozikowski, Sr. Systems Integration Engineer at MxD

Finally, Eric Kozikowski, a Sr. Systems Integration Engineer at MxD, was honored as a Next-Generation Leadership finalist. Kozikowski is responsible for managing multiple aspects of the factory floor that highlight advanced manufacturing technologies and educating others on the benefits of implementing them. He also works to educate the next generation of the workforce through educating MxD interns and speaking with university students.

MxD will be recognized at the Manufacturing Leadership Awards Gala, which will take place on June 28, 2023, in Marco Island, FL. A full list of winners and details on the gala can be found at https://www.manufacturingleadershipcouncil.com/leadership-awards/
