Future Factory Production Line Displays Digital Innovations

U.S. manufacturing is undergoing a digital transformation: Software and sensors embedded in production lines collect and send data, which allows equipment to build every part better than the last, in real time. This cuts costs and increases efficiency and competitiveness. But many manufacturers need guidance on digitizing their operations.

Outcome

MxD has built a 24,000-square-foot Future Factory demonstration and training center so manufacturers can come see what’s possible. Thousands of manufacturers visit DMDII each year to see digitally-enabled production lines equipped with the latest innovations, such as artificial intelligence and augmented reality. One stop on the Future Factory tour was a production line building Stanley Black & Decker impact drivers. Each station was optimized to collect and receive data for continual, real-time improvement.
